Spray Foam Roof Systems & Coatings Specialists Duluth, MN
Not a roofing company that learned foam. A foam specialist that does roofing, built around spray technology from day one, with the application knowledge, construction background, and dedicated equipment to handle what Duluth's climate puts on a commercial roof every single year.
Why Choose Technical Construction Solutions for Spray Foam Roof Systems in Duluth, MN?
Flat and low-slope roofs in Duluth endure extreme stresses, including freeze-thaw cycles, heavy snowpack, and Lake Superior moisture, which cause standard roofing systems to fail prematurely.
For example, a property manager at a West Duluth industrial corridor warehouse spent three years patching the same leak. The existing membrane had lost adhesion, allowing water to travel laterally underneath it. Because patching the visible exit point never addressed the actual entry point, the roof continued to leak every winter.
By preparing the substrate and applying a closed-cell SPF system, we solved the root cause. SPF roofing bonds directly to the deck to create a single, monolithic surface. With no laps, seams, or adhesive bonds to break down under thermal cycling, it eliminates the gaps where water and ice usually cause damage. That warehouse roof has remained completely dry through multiple harsh seasons since the application.
Technical Construction Solutions (TCS) was built from the ground up around foam technology. Founded by Freddy Lewis, the company specializes in foam systems, making SPF roofing a foundational expertise rather than just an added service.

Commercial Spray Foam Roof Systems in Duluth, MN
For warehouses along the Duluth-Superior port corridor, manufacturing and light industrial facilities in the West Duluth and Gary-New Duluth neighborhoods, retail and office buildings across the Miller Hill area, and larger commercial properties throughout St. Louis County, SPF roofing delivers what traditional flat roof systems cannot: a seamless, monolithic surface with no laps, no seams, and no adhesive bonds to fail under the freeze-thaw stress that Duluth roofs absorb every winter.
Closed-cell spray polyurethane foam expands on contact with the roof substrate and cures into a rigid, water-resistant surface bonded directly to the deck. The foam layer provides both weatherproofing and thermal insulation in a single application, reducing heat loss through the roof assembly while eliminating the moisture infiltration points that membrane systems develop over time through thermal cycling and age.
For Duluth commercial property owners and facility managers balancing both maintenance budgets and energy costs through a heating season that runs nearly half the year, that combination matters in a way it does not in a moderate climate. An SPF roof that stops infiltration and reduces heating load pays for itself differently than a membrane replacement that only addresses weatherproofing.
The foam layer is finished with a protective elastomeric topcoat that shields the SPF from UV degradation and extends the service life of the system. That topcoat can be reapplied at the end of its service cycle to restore the roof without tearing off and replacing the foam beneath it.
Large-Scale SPF Roofing Projects in the Duluth Area
Large commercial and industrial roof surfaces demand spray equipment that can maintain consistent output, temperature control, and mix ratio across the full project without interruption. On a large flat roof, inconsistent application produces inconsistent adhesion, inconsistent foam thickness, and inconsistent performance across different zones of the same building. Equipment capability directly determines SPF roofing quality at scale.
TCS runs three dedicated spray foam rigs and operates a 44-foot commercial trailer, the "Big Rig" setup, that transports foam materials, lift equipment, and everything needed for a large-scale roofing project in a single mobilization. A facility manager who worked alongside TCS on a large industrial roofing project in the Duluth area said afterward that TCS was the first roofing crew he had brought in that arrived with every piece of equipment staged and ready to work on the first day.
For Duluth property owners managing active commercial operations where a roofing project means disruption to daily business, operational reliability reduces the total cost of the project beyond the contract price itself.
SPF Roofing for Agricultural and Metal Roof Structures
Agricultural buildings, pole barns, and large storage facilities across Carlton County, Douglas County, and the rural areas surrounding Duluth present a different set of roofing challenges than commercial flat decks. Metal roofing panels expand and contract continuously through thermal cycling, opening gaps at seam points and around fastener locations that standard sealants cannot hold through a full northern season.
Condensation forming on the underside of uninsulated metal roofing damages stored equipment, feed, and materials over time in ways that are difficult to reverse. SPF applied directly to a metal roof deck bonds to the metal surface, seals fastener points and seam gaps across the full area rather than at discrete patch locations, and adds insulation value that reduces both condensation formation and heat loss through the roof assembly.
For agricultural operations and rural commercial facilities in the Duluth region where the contents of the building carry real value, protecting them through a northern winter is an investment with a clear return.

Seam, flashing, and penetration sealing for commercial and industrial roofing systems across the Duluth area. Protective coating systems that extend the service life of existing roof assemblies without full replacement.
Exterior Building Waterproofing
Wall assembly moisture protection paired with roof system installations. Stopping water at the building envelope level rather than managing it after it enters the wall assembly.
Air Barriers
Building envelope air sealing for new construction and renovation projects across Duluth and St. Louis County. Controlling air movement through the assembly to reduce energy loss and prevent moisture accumulation inside the wall and roof cavities.
Why Foam Expertise Matters on a Roofing Project
SPF roofing is not a system that any crew with a spray rig can install correctly. The product requires precise temperature control at the gun, a correct mix ratio between the A and B chemical components, thorough substrate preparation and moisture testing before application begins, and consistent foam thickness maintained across the full roof surface. Variations in any one of those factors produce a system that underperforms or fails well ahead of its design life.
TCS was built around foam technology from day one. The same application knowledge that produces consistent, high-performance spray foam insulation in Duluth crawl spaces, rim joists, and pole barn structures carries directly into SPF roofing, because the product, the equipment, and the application discipline are identical. This crew does not learn foam on roofing projects. They bring foam expertise to roofing projects, backed by years of real applications across multiple system types and building conditions.
That distinction matters when the system going on your Duluth commercial roof is expected to perform through two decades of freeze-thaw cycling, lake-effect moisture, and heavy snowpack without significant maintenance intervention.
Why Duluth Property Owners and Contractors Trust Technical Construction Solutions
Built Around Foam From Day One.
TCS was not a general contractor that added SPF roofing to its service list. Foam technology is what this company was founded to do: insulation, structural lifting, void filling, and roofing. The application knowledge behind every SPF roofing project here is field-tested across years of real projects, not acquired through manufacturer training courses.
Spray Equipment Built for Large Roofing Projects.
Three dedicated spray foam rigs and a 44-foot commercial trailer give TCS the output capacity to complete large Duluth-area commercial roofing projects without the inconsistent application that underequipped crews produce when they push equipment past its rated capacity on oversized jobs.
Construction Knowledge That Goes Beyond the Roof Surface.
TCS also performs concrete lifting, undersealing, void filling, and full building insulation. That broader construction background means roofing problems get assessed in the context of the full building assembly, not just the visible surface where the water is exiting.
Built for Duluth's Climate Specifically.
Every SPF system installed in the Duluth area is specified for freeze-thaw performance, lake-effect moisture exposure, heavy snow load, and the thermal cycling that Lake Superior's climate produces on commercial roofs. General roofing specs written for moderate climates often fail within a fraction of their design service life.
Family-Built. Field-Proven.
Construction has been part of this company's foundation since it started. That history produces practical application judgment and real-world problem-solving that shapes every project from the initial roof assessment through the final inspection.
Fair Pricing. No Shortcuts.
Every estimate reflects proper substrate preparation, the right foam thickness for that application and climate exposure, and a topcoat system matched to the UV and moisture conditions at that building location. No padding, no cutting application steps to protect margins.
On Time. On Budget. Every Time.
Roofing projects that drag past their scheduled window create disruption and additional cost for property owners and facility managers. Projects here finish on the timeline agreed to and within the budget outlined, without the delays that undersized crews and underequipped rigs produce on commercial jobs.

Great professional team at TCS Insulation & Coating of Fargo. Business offers concrete raising and insulation spray foam for house needs. Thank you.Posted on Google Bob WinsorTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If Google allowed 10 stars I'd give them to TCS Insulation & Coatings! This is simply the best, and only, company you should consider for your spray foam insulation needs. I had my steel barn spray foamed by a different company. I was concerned about the low quality of that job. I have a wifi thermometer in the building and can watch the temperature closely. The temperature inside the building fluctuated almost exactly at the same time as the outside temperature. Clearly the foam was NOT insulating well. I contacted TCS and they came to inspect. They pointed out all of the many many problems with the foam. It was determined that ALL of that existing foam needed removal. The crew from TCS did an amazing job! This building is 40'x50' with 19' high sidewalls. A HUGE job! They worked so hard for many days. They then primed all of the now bare steel, and applied the new foam insulation. Now the temperature stays constant inside when the outside temp goes up and down. It's a huge difference! The workers were great to have around for over 2 weeks. Really nice and friendly. They feel like family now. I'm sure their arms and shoulders are still painful from this job. The building inspector was impressed with their work. The first picture shows only a tiny bit of the bad foam. This shows that the first company did not mix the foam correctly. That was only part of their problem.Posted on Google Samantha JonesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Spray foam insulation is an exceptional company.
